Mine

Hi guys,

So, today I wanted to talk to you guys about the city that I live in and have lived in all my life. The city, well, it always gets ‘slack’ for being so far behind and because of it’s not so successful retail sector and having slower development compared to the other cities. Especially with the city being sooooo close to another very successful city its become over shadowed but there was a time when it was very successful with an amazing clothing industry, and then to say it became the world’s first City of Film as well as other amazing things the city has achieved.

I was born here, into this city, this city was the city my grandparents migrated to when leaving there country to come to the UK. My city is amazingly ethnically diverse and holds many migrant families from all over the world. We have some of the best food, which for me is a plus. But when I here people saying that the city has nothing to offer, I just think you need to look harder. Britain might be dubbed dull and grey the majority of the year, I find I have to disagree, fair enough it has its moments but when, for example lets say ,we do have amazing weather, every one takes granted of it. There is no appreciation to the fact that we had beauty and we still do we just need to find it and if we can’t find it, then I say lets create some.

I want to leave this city one day, but only because I have been here all my life, not because I hate it here and well this city truly isn’t that bad. I can say one good thing that I get from living here, I know who lives next door and who lives across the street and also my neighbors neighbors and their neighbors it makes me feel safer to know that there is someone across the street keeping an eye on the house. I also know owners of the local stores. Its safe for kids to play outside of there garden, kids play in the middle of the road with every one, whether it be cricket or football and the older kids look after the younger. We have a community and I believe that that is what makes a city not how big the city is or well known it is.

Be fair and think before you speak as your words may not seem so friendly to others. Be wise and be considerate to others just the way you would like others to be towards you.I have my own bedroom. I go to a great school with some amazing people. I have an amazing family. My aunties, uncles, cousins and grandparents are with in walking distance of my house. My best friend lives a street away and I couldn’t ask for anymore.
